Question:

How can I prevent my goggles from falling down when I dive?

I'm on a swim meet this summer and we have to start with racing (shallow) dives. My goggles always fall down around my neck. I can open my eyes under water but I can't see anything. I invested $20 in this pair after trying many others and I would really like to be able to use them.

  1. Yes, split the straps one above the pony tail and one below.  Tuck your chin and that should do it.  What kind are you wearing?  Maybe try getting a pair of TYR racetech's.  They have a wide angle lens that virtually can't come down, and they fit all faces all ages.  The best place to get them is the http://www.swimoutlet.com  Especially if you are getting  a grabbag suit, pick up a pair.  They are 7.95

I do not recommend swedes, in addition to very few people wearing them, they are best suited for males that are highschool college age, and they will come down, and aren't real comfortable.  The vanquisher is the best selling most popular speedo goggle right now they are 10.50 at swim outlet

  2. The best find of goggles to get are speedo, and the ones that are for "competition"... those work really good, and their really light weight....and if you put your hair in a bun type of way, then try putting both straps together over the bun...but dont have your hair up so high either. put your hair even with your ears in the back... o, and your prolly puttin your goggles over your cap, try putt your goggles on 1st, then your cap over...... If you try that, and its still coming off, then the goggles arent the reason!!!!..... thats wen  you know for sure that its your DIVES that are messin up for goggles... you prolly need to stick your head more into your arms and have your arms really tight in stream-line position.... because if your diving wrong, then the water is hitting your goggles and makin them come off.........just really make sure your head is tucked in good and you have straight arms!!!!

    Hope i Helped!!

  3. make sure ur chin is to ur chest and u keep it there also i know this sounds wierd but make sure ur goggles are tight and they should feel like ur eyeballs are being sucked out a little. i know its odd but it works. i had the same problem during swim! i hope it works!

  4. keep your head tucked more and your arms tighter around your ears. and then since tighting them did not work try pressing them tighter to your face. good luck

  5. Tighten them really tight.

  6. No you dont have to tighten your goggles so much that it feels like your eyeballs are going to pop out. You just have to find the right pair of goggles that fit your face well. And when you dive in the water make sure your head is down instead of looking out. Trust me. I have been swimming for 5-6 years now.

  7. best solution - wear goggles under your swim cap. i always do it!

you dont have to tighten them like h**l - just tight.

buy speedo swedish goggles. at Why Pay More. About RM 59.90. they come in colorless & light purple color.

Also you may try buying goggles from 'View' (competitive ones). Lots f designs to choose from.

best - slit goggle strap around your pony tail. make sure no hair is sticking out from cap. & you might be diving at a steep angle.

do not close your eyes when you jump/enter water, this may cause them to unstick from your eye area. pres to your eyes well, NOT crazy hard til eyes pp out.
