How can I promote my Canadian small business on line?

It's a fashion/stylist business in Alberta, Canada. I'm just starting out and have a very small (next to non-existent!!) advertising budget. I have posted ads on Kijiji.com and classified ads in my hometown paper. Any other ideas for cheap but effective advertising?

Not sure if you've got a physical storefront location or an online location.  If it's a physical location, scrape up some money for signage - it's important to get the walk by/drive by trade.  If it's an online location, write some articles and post to ezine publishers.  

For either physical or digital, write a press release (free) and send out to your local newspapers, radio station, television station as well as the free PR web sites.  Try to get an interview with some of the media - it's free and will do a lot for your business (and a lot of the community media like to do new business stories).
