  1. Write articles about your website or ideas.

Submit your website for users to review, free!

    Go to Famous Pages

  2. The best way is to do search engine optimization on your website so as to increase your web site traffic. As an experienced web designer and SEO, I should know.

    SEO includes :

    1. Getting targeted meta tags and keywords

    2. More one way back links to your site.

    3. Increasing your Page Rank to 3 or better.

    4. Joining directories and submission sites.

    5. Use google analytics to track your progress.

    6. Clean your HTML codes and validate your site.

  3. If you already have a website:

Google Adwords & Yahoo Search Marketing

Allows you to pick keywords pertaining to your business. When someone searches with the keyword. Your website will appear in the right column.  You bid on the keywords.  This is called pay per click advertising. Depending on what you put for a bid (ie. .50) than that is what you would be charged for everytime someone clicks on your ad. You can set budgets as well with these companies. But all you need is one big company to click on your site to get the customer. Got to spend money to make money. Hope this helps.

  4. There are many free tools for promoting your site online. If you put your company url into your questiont hat would have been one of them.

launch some craigslist ads and write some articles and press releases. Do some search on where you can distribute them for free and you can slowly get started.

  5. Take advantage of some social networking sites. There are huge audiences out there. Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Digg, Mixx, etc.

You'll want to build a profile and then start making "friends" with like-minded people and businesses. Join groups related to your website.

Just be careful to not over-promote. You'll need to be active in the community and provide real value to your new friends. Don't limit your interactions to only promoting your brand, get active in the groups and communities. It's about your brand/yourself providing value.

Stumbleupon is a good one too for some traffic spikes. Again, you need to be active and not only promote your own site.

  6. I think this is what you are looking for (sort of?) I run a small business myself selling mainly through my online store. I have recently struck a deal on zimzar.com and I have already increased my traffic by a huge amount.

Check out http://www.zimzar.com  A recently launched website which brings advertisers, businesses, organisations and individuals with anyone with a social networking page, videos (think how many hits some videos receive in a day), blogs and website to trade, sponsor, swap and negotiate their own deals for embedding adverts,URLs and more. If you are a business, it can be a great way to reach a mass audience whilst on a really tight budget, you can even offer free products to the person you work with if you are low on funds.

It's completely free to register so its worth a look.

    Good luck

  7. The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is

to first set up a website and publish its domain name

on major search directories such as Google.com,

    Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and

MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these

search directories to provide them with goods and

services. In a sense, these search directories are a

    very large Internet Yellow Pages.

Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage

fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using

such "generic" queries will not be able to discover

your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,

in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,

when observed and committed in designing of a website

with placement of various critical metatags that can

surely achieve a high search engine presence and

increase Internet traffic to your website. These

metatag strategies work well with published webpages

    at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based

website, make sure to fill-in the property entries

such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing

to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can

be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the

Internet audience and their incoming setup. For

example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages

take too long to load up and therefore analog users

will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the

Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL

lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So

before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple

question, "Who's my end user - is he on dialup or

DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users

for maximum marketability, then select analog users

since 80% of most resident users are still analog

Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages

    is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,

is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit

the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a

graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots

are unable to properly classify textual material.

    Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google

and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which

should consist of no more than 65 characters separated

by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic

terms, the goods and services, followed by a location

from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.

The placement of a domain name which is not generic

within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your

domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is

usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which

best describes one's goods and services.

And the very last category - "Keywords" are also

somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural

and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries

which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which

is defined as the loading, and submission of

repetitive words into a particular metatag category.

"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported

to Google's spamreport.com can result in the

elimination of your website from their search

    directory.

Here's an example of a very highly-placed website on

Google.com: Begin with the very "generic" search query

"sandwiches downtown los angeles," taking note to not

abbreviate Los Angeles to "LA" and of course, leave

out the parentheses ("). It will bring up some 2.4

million+ search results. Check out where "Nazos.net"

is ranked. It's ranked No. 1!

Again, Nazos.net's high web presence was achieved by

proper web design and placement of relevant metatags

    according to Google's publication guidelines.

    Good luck!

  11. Hey,

The cheapest and easiest way for you to market your website is with google web search. This will help more people view your web site. So what you need is a SEO.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results for targeted keywords. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results or the higher it "ranks", the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As a marketing strategy for increasing a site's relevance, SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. SEO efforts may involve a site's coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a site, ensuring that content is easily indexed by search engine robots, and making the site more appealing to users. Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove them from their indices.

The initialism "SEO" can also refer to "search engine optimizers", terms adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems, URLs, and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.
