Question:

How can I properly take care of my tattoo if I have a job that requires me to work out in the sun?

I just recently got a tattoo and I know that Im supposed to keep it moist at all times but its kinda hard when I have to wear a shirt over it and have to work out in the blazing sun.Should I put some plastic wrap over it?

  1. plastic wrap will not help. But from a tattoo shop an ointment called tattoo goo, you only have to apply it twice a day and you rub it in completely, that way you can wear a high spf sunblock without a stick mess.

  3. I agree with the previous posters, whether or not you work in the sun, it is very important to protect your ink from the sun. But As a lifeguard with several tattoos, I always moisturize with tattoo goo twice daily, and reapply high SPF sunblock every hour or two. If you don't reapply over your whole body that often, you should still reapply to the tattoo that often. And the best thing would be to buy a moisture wicking shirt with built in SPF.

  4. buy a shirt with SPF  of high value, from Solumbra or somewhere.

    You want to protect your tattoo from the sun forever, not just now.
