I have just bought a new Nissan Quashqai. I live in Cyprus where temperature in Summer is over 35 C and there is sun 10 months of the year. I dont have a parking place where I live so the car is exposed to the sun. I can not move to another house for at least a year. I am wondering whether a permanent damage will be caused to my car and how can I protect it.

  1. Thanks to modern paint materials, there will be no sun damage to the paint for years and years to come.

Trust me. I live in Phoeniz Arizona, US. We have 300+ sunny days a year, and summer temps often hit 115f.

  2. when a car sits in the sun for a long time the paint will get damaged eventually. You may not notice it at first. What I recommend is to get a car cover and cover it every day. May want to look for one at JC Whitney. good luck

  3. Keep it clean and waxed with a good quality wax. With the modern paints and clear coat that auto manufacturers use, that's really about all that's required.  Leaving things like bird pooh bake into the finish will leave marks in the clear coat, hence the keep it clean and the wax will help protect the clear coat just like furniture polish protects your furniture!

  4. Rub sunscreen on it.
