I've heard of people doing this (college groups especially), and I'd like to do this for a church youth group get together at my house. But I want to make sure it will be successful. The last thing I want is to not have bright enough blacklight bulbs, or not placed well, or not enough of them. Also, how to do the out of bounds lines and net?

  1. have everyone wear white.  Extension chords and black lights on the ground.

  2. Get a bunch of blacklight, the kind that are the long pole kind that go in the ceiling usually in classrooms. Just put as much out there as possible without causing a fire. Have everyone wear white so they look cool, and make sure you get a bright white net and a white ball so you can see it. Out of bound lines could be spray painted white. Just anything you want to show up basically, make it white.

  3. They sell "glow in the dark" balls that are either charged up by regular light or take batteries (they have both)

You can use string lights (christmass lights) to outline the court and run on top of the net and up the poles.

As far as using black lights you'll just have to try it out and see what looks good.

  4. have the black light bulbs in paper lanterns, and set them up around the court on poles.

have everyone wear light colored clothes, (white, light blue, light pink).

idunno about watts or whatever, though.
