How can I put 2 colors in my hair without blend?

I'm placing two different colors into my hair later on and I want to know how i can keep one color from getting into the other. Do I put one dye in at a time? And if so, how do I do that?

(colors i'm using; black and red)

  1. It will be hard for the two colours to not blend with eachother.  I suggest you use a highlighting CAP.

  2. My Mom was a hairdresser, so I will try to help. I assume that you are attempting to either streak or tip the hair?

Generally, hair supply places carry plastic hats that have holes in them. You pull the strands out individually through the holes (usually with a thin pick of some sort) and color just the parts you want colored. To be safe, I would probably do the colors separately to avoid color run. After the desired color is reached, rinse with the cap still on. Remove the cap after the water runs clear and condition or whatever else needs to be done.

I see that you added more detail. For what you want, you should probably have a friend to "see" how straight your pattern is running. You do not mention your present color. Still, the process I described would work. Just remember that the stripes will be however thick the strand is that you pull through. Give yourself plenty of time for the prep because that is going to be the longest and most important part.

  3. do one color first let it set then do the second it works no too messy either

  4. Put one color on at the same time...How are you doing your hair?..Like for example, if you do the top black, and the bottom red, Make a part from side to side, pin up the top half, mix up the red, and put it on the bottom, Then undo the top, Mix up the bleach, and put the black on the top..Pin the bleach back up onto your head, if you want, and let process..Then just wash your hair like you would..It won't mix or anything and destroy the color...

  5. if you're doing the top one color and the bottom another, just have someone part it for you. once it's parted, tie the top part up and pin it away from the bottom, dye the bottom whichever color, then wrap it in tinfoil or saran wrap so it doesn't get the top part of your hair that color. then once it's covered let down the top and color it with the other dye. you might want to cover that with saran wrap or tinfoil to just to be sure. as for rinsing, rinse the top of your head first to get that color out, then rinse the bottom so the colors don't mix.

if you're doing strands, use tinfoil. it's what the professionals do. take a strand over hair and place it over a flat piece of tinfoil. coat it with one of the dyes, then fold up the tinfoil. keep doing this to however many strands you want. good luck !
