  1. Yahoo groups at this time don't allow backgrounds- you can upload a photo or add HTML to the description area


  2. you can dress it up a bit if you choose custom colors a good photo and welcoming message.  Click edit beside description on your cover page then scroll down and you will find where to do all that.
