How can I put fabric around a metal basket?

Its a square metal storage basket, but it has gaps in it. How can I put fabric around it so my things don't fall out?

You might try laying the fabric inside the basket. If you need it more secure, you could fold the ends over and pin or hot glue the ends, then wrap a ribbon or another strip of fabric around to cover the seams.
