Question:

How can I put in links on a .txt file?

I have, at the moment, the bible in a .txt file. I would like to put some links at the beginning so that when I click on it, it takes me to the specific book. It's all in one page, so I can easily put it on my ipod. This is also the other reason - it's easier to go to each book that way rather than scrolling all the way down...

Any suggestions?

  1. You can't do it with a txt file.

You can however do it with a html file. Just use the A HREF element.

  2. Unfortunately, .txt files can store nothing but text and so, u can't add links. You should convert it to .pdf or .html format to add links.

Easier option: open it with word, save as word document. Now u should be able to add links. But then u would probably not be able to read that on ur ipod :-(

  3. I doubt you could do that in a .txt file.  .txt files are very plain and usually only support text nothing else.

  4. You can't do it with txt files. They are completely unformatted text and don't support anything else. You'd need a rich text format to actually do anything besides enter texts, but then that won't work with an ipod.

You could try saving each book of the bible as a seperate text file, that way when you browse your notes on your iPod they'll be seperated by book. You can also seperate by testament

    example: Notes > New testament > Exodus.txt
