I have Windows Vista Basic if that helps...i cant figure out how to put all my videos on a DVD or a CD...i have so many videos that is taking up a ton of space on my computer (probably at LEAST 10-15 GBs) and i have about 3000 pictures on here too that i want on a CD, its just videos and pictures of my daughter.

Someone please tell me how I can do this, i dont want to buy a program, im hoping I can do this without getting one, but if i do, i dont want to spend more than $25! Thanks for the help in advance!!

  1. You don't have to spend a dime... on the S/W that is.. The disc's would still have to be bought...

There are a ton of free softwares available for burning DVD/Cd.. Just go to www.download.com & search for free CD\DVD writing software.. Here is one I use: http://www.deepburner.com/download/DeepB...

  2. Fastest answer I can give you:

    http://www.download.com/CDBurnerXP/3000-...

you will find a description there. I use it, it works!

  3. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.

    Free download here:

Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the DVD creator give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product:

Also, you can search some other software:

  4. ON VISTA ★★★★★

    Hope it helps.

  5. Basic data writing is provided by your operating system.

    Insert a blank disk.

Vista may open the disk for you, but If it doesnt, either use run or My Computer and navigate into your disk drive. There, you can drag files into that folder\drive and there should be a button in the corner that say write files to disk or burn.....

Unless....you want to spend extra money on nero....

  6. select the files you want to burn then click burn to disc at the top. they will stay in the original format so you wont be able to watch on normal dvd players. you might want to use something like anyvideoconverter to compress the videos so you can fit more on one dvd. what i suggeest you do however is buy a new hard drive. i just bought a 160gb sata II hard drive for £25 from ebuyer.com. its always safer to store files (pictures, videos, music etc) on a seperate hard drive incase your computer crashes. hope this helps
