I have had my leopard gecko for almost 4 months now. She is about 6" and tangerine. Whenever she is out and I lift the top of the terrarium to change her water or feed her she always goes into her den. Also, when I go to pick her up she tries to run away. What can I do so that she will not be afraid of me. Also can leopard geckos catch deseases from spring bottled water?

  1. You can't, if you want a pet you can hold and play with get a kitten or a puppy. These animals don't really want to be held, they actually get stressed out by being held. Geckos are very sensitive animals and they succomb to stress easily.

And no they won't catch a disease from Spring Water unless the water is contaiminated with something.

You can all give me all the thumbs down you want, however it doesn't change the fact that leopard geckos don't want to be held. When your leopard gecko is scared, it will drop its tail out of fear. Their tails will fall off completely and bleed. They use their tails to store fat, if they lose it.. they will be unable to keep necessary fats in their bodies. Look into this if you don't believe me. Plus if your leopard gecko is scared.. it may try to run off your hand/arm/shoulder and fall to the ground injuring itself. Or even worse.. get lost in your home. It's just not recommended.

  2. Just keep holding her and she'll get better also spring bottled is the best thing for them so they shouldn't get diseases

    ps- Is this Ross Pinou?
