Raise as much as humanly possible.How well perhaps do a marathon walk, have to be fairly fit, but you could get people to sponsor you so much per mile.  Sad to see that something so worthwhile is now run down. Wasn't she married to Leonard Cheshire who also had charitable shops and ran other charitable organisations for ex servicemen?

you could hold a boot sale and donate the money to them.sell raffle tickets etc
