How can I raise money for a personal cause?

I really want a car. I have been saving money on a monthly basis, but I can't seem to accumulate enough in a short period of time needed. I don't mind having to buy a used vehicle but most people want to sell hidden problems as well as the used car is concerned. What's a woman to do?

  1. A woman is to do what a man or anyone else would do to afford something. They would increase income or reduce expenses or realize that they can't afford something just because they want it. Having a car is not only about a car payment... it's about gas, insurance and maintenance. Can you afford all of that? A good estimate for a vehicle is around $500 a month (plus or minus based on one's age, insurance rates, credit scores, etc) so if you cannot save $500 a month for at least 3-6 months without touching the money you can't afford what you want. That $500 a month would certainly buy you alot of car pool rides, taxi fares, bus fares, etc. Yes, buying a used vehicle is more practical than a new one in terms of costs and not all used cars are lemons. Don't even consider leasing. Pay cash for your car or at least make a big down payment on it. Pick up a part time job or business, reduce expenses you already have, set up a savings account and contribute to it, sell things you no longer want or need, barter for services and products, and do whatever you can to get what you want. It's important to set goals and make them realistic if you ever expect to achieve them.

  2. Well, if your not too old, you could babysit, gather some of your friends, do a car wash (split the money evenly unless their fine with letting you ave the money), try selling some stuff you don't want on ebay, instead of asking for clothes etc. for your b-day, just ask for money, if you don't already, get a job, or two, Oh, if you have a digital camera, or if you can use one, have a pet picture thing. Put up posters about it, the cost and the place, and then wait for a while, and customers will come with their pets and want their pictures taken. Ask for the persons email address, and send the picture to them! Don't use their email address publicly or anything like that.

    Hope I've helped!

    Sara.

  3. No offence but there are bigger problems in the world. You will only raise, like 10$ since no one will really care...no offence...
