  1. Other suggestion....Try not to stop at a traffic light. If the light is red slow down and try to wait for it to turn green. You get 0 miles while sitting at a traffic light. Don't go through the drive through. Turn off your car when it will be idling for over 2 minutes. Turn right on red. Follow your cars maintenance schedule - tune up, air filter, change oil, tire pressure. No quick accelleration. Take your foot off the gas and let your car coast downhill if it is safe. Use regular unleaded if your car manual says to use Regular Unleaded. Take un-needed items out of your car and trunk.  When running errands to all your errands together. Go on the longest errand first to allow your car to warm up. Drive smart - avoid traffic - check traffic reports on the Radio. Know an alternate route so you don't have to sit in traffic.

  2. Air pressure in tires at 35psi.

    Roll your windows up.

    Don't use AC.

Use cruise control at 65 MPH.

Clean your car for anything you dont use, lowers weight, lowers horsepower needed.

Coast to a stop or slowdown.

When accelerating stay under 2000 rpm.

I have done these things and my MPG has improved from 25MPG to 36MPG.

  3. keep driving.  dont stop

  4. Get in the car turn it on put on some music and drive until you have the mileage you want.

  5. Its called Hypermiling. Its where you can make small tweaks to your car to get it to get up to 50 or more MPG.

I want to point you ever to a blog that is all about hypermiling it should explain everything to you about saving gas and various hypermiling tips. http://gas-hypermiling.blogspot.com/

  6. Use the Cruise Control; Check for proper tire inflation; lighten the load in the trunk; drive slower; reduce quick starts and stops.

  7. 1.Tire pressure checked weekly or fill with nitrogen and would not have a problem.2.Make sure you service the auto per the manufactures recommended times.3.Drive at the lowest speed possible.(if 70 is posted, go the minimum of 55) this will save about 2 or 3 miles a gallon.Good Luck.

  8. Check your tires' pressure, make sure it is very close to the max. usually about 35psi, check your air filter make sure it is clean.  Make sure your sparkplugs are good.  Some need to be replaced every 100miles others 45 miles.  Dont do a hard acceleration when starting don't break hard to stop.  Let go of the accelerator and coast when you know you are going to stop.  Don't drive over 55mph.  The optimal speed is around 45 to 55 mph.  If you drive 80 MPH you will get half the mileage you can get at around 55 mph.   Get rid of any unneccessary items in your car.  The more weight the worse your performance.  Don't carry extra passengers if you don't need too, I know a lot of people who refuse to go anywhere without someone with them or without the dog.
