,mold , you can usually see it , and smell it . mold can be in drywall , and has a black and sometimes fuzzy look to it . radon gas , i believe you need a detector to sense that .  for radon , you would have to call in someone with a detecting device .   hope this helps you .

The smell is the first clue. Does it smell funny like musty or damp? then look for clues like small blackish spots on anything ?  Check for any kind of ventilation because dead air grows mold open a vent and let it breath.  Lots of clutter will grow mold to. Be careful mold is nasty stuff and can make you really sick.
