How can I record a show from my DVR to my laptop DVD recorder?

I have DirectTV with a DVR, and I would like to transfer a show I recorded to my laptop that has a DVD recorder. I can't seem to find any instructions on how to do this. Windows Vista is my operating system on the laptop. Any help? Thanks.

  1. Go get a cheep DVD recorder , it works better and it's easy to transfer
