How can I record ringtones on my new LG Shine?

Question

I just got an LG Shine (Red, if that matters, which I don't think it does...) and I can't buy ringtones, because the internet on my phone got cut off (long story) so, I was wondering how I can record things and use them as ringtones?

One more thing-

On itunes there's this thing where you can cut songs into small pieces and buy the smaller pieces as ringtones. I was wondering how they got from the computer to your phone? O_o

Sorry if these are easy questions. I'm not used to having a cell phone.

go to the menu, go down to my stuff, then go to camera and recordings, and then click record voice. this is how u record something. im not sure if i answer ur question but i hope so! btw i just got a red LG shine too! kool phone isnt it? :D
