How can I recover a windows xp administrator account password w/o reformatting or changing the password?

  3. You have to change it.Open the command prompt and type Net user _______ *

    In the blank enter the name of the account and hit enter, then enter a new password for them

  4. Do this, in your account

    Start>Run>cmd> the command prompt pops up

    In the command prompt, type net user

    you should see "Administrator"

    Next, type this exactly into your command prompt

    net user administrator *

    Note: for the star, it's number 8 (shift and 8)

    Then type a new password for administrator

    Type it again to confirm

    If that doesn't work

    Try ophcrack, it can crack password up to 11-word long.

    It's an image file (.iso) burn it onto a cd usin' imgburn
