How can I recover something I didn't save?

I wrote a four page essay, and hit exit. But by accident, instead of hitting save, I hit no. Is there some way to recover this? It took me over 4 hours to write and I really don't want to have to do it over... Is there anything I can do?

By The Way, it was on NotePad.

Sorry, but if it was not saved at all, there is no way to recover it. That happened to me once, and I had to rewrite the whole paper. So in the future it would be wise to save the paper when you start it, as that way it should save it as you go, depending on how you have it setup.
