How can I recycle CD cases instead of just throwing them away?

I have a large box full of CD cases just sitting in my garage. Obviously I don't use them and I keep the CDs that I have in a CD book. I don't want to just throw them away in the trash, since I think that's more of a waste than anything. Is there a specific place that you can take CD cases to be recycled? I was wondering if anyone knows of a special place somewhere that will take them. Would it be just the state recycling company to take them to?

List them on freecycle.  Lots of people have stacks of blank CDs that need cases when they are burned and might love to have them.  I picked up a bag a while back and am still using them.

maybe post on Craigslist. I would be certain that a small business or even an art student would take them for a project...those are my thoughts

Hi I have a simple answer.  I can use them, since we burn a lot CD's and are constantly buying empty cases.  If you post them I am sure someone will take them.  I'm sure we aren't the only ones still storing CD's in towers.

What you could do is reuse them and make them into random abstract art projects.  For instance, use them as nice little photo frames for some of your more smaller photos, a nice decent sized bird house, or a colorful little box to hold random odds and ends just to name a few. :)

It is possible that a photographer may want them. I work in a photo lab and see photographers coming in all the time with different old cd cases. It is cheaper for them to use old ones than buying new cases. You could call a photographer in your area and see if they want them.

You can make Christmas cards out of them.  Save them for a scout troop etc.  I've seen somewhere you can make them very cute and scrapbookish.

you can donate them to a library so they can repair there cd cases  they will gladley take them   hope it helped!
