  1. recycle means using more than once. So to use them twice is reclcing. I use them for target practice.

  2. My kid's childcare centre made mobiles out of old CDs and DVDs for the babies to look at.

  3. If you want them to be recycled so that they can be used again donate them to a charity such as The Salvation Army or St Vincents de Paul. This of course depends on whether they are still working or not. If they don't work go to your local Council tip / recycling area. They will extract anything valuable or reusable from them and recycle them for you.

  4. CD's and DVD's make great beer coasters.

  5. If you learn your metals, TVs and other electronics can be tore apart (literally, no need wasting time gently taking them apart for this) and the various metals removed. Picture tubes should be removed, and busted up. For safety putting them in a 50 gallon drum to bust them is best. There will be metals inside which need extracted. Wear gloves for this. Now if you pour a bucket of water over the glass, you will see it is clear glass, and ready for the bin. Plastic cases might be able to be recycled in your area, I'm in the US. Wooden cases the wood cn be re-used in a shed for building shelves, or patching a hole in the floor of an old building etc.

CDs and DVDs I am not sure of, but they can be re-used. Glue them shiny side down to your ceiling, it's a neat effect. hang them on string, and as they spin in the wind they create a neat lighting effect. Have contests throwing them. If you lose one, it's not as bad as losing a Frisbee. The best way though, is to go to someone's house you don't like, and swap them for their good ones!
