How can I recycle a computer moniter?

Question

I have an old computer moniter that I don't need, how can I get rid of it?

Do I have to call the recycle people and get them to collect it? How much does it cost?

Or can I sell it to cash converters? Anybody know how much I will get for it?

We have a local charity called reboot who work with autistic teenagers, they refurbish old computers and sell them on to fund the work they do.You could see if there is anything like this in your area.

dont recycle it. use it;

take it a part and get the flyback transformer. this can make some amasing sparks and plasma. when you tale off the rubber cap. ground the wire in the inside first using a grounded screwdriver.

FIRST ---------Try THIS   ---Another possibility is if you are buying a new one I know that Best Buy and Cir City Micro center will take ur old one and will give u some $$ back off the new purchase,.They did for me just ASK,... they'll do anything today for your busiiness

you coukld try to sell it on ebay but who would buy it

throw it out leave it on the curb when its the sanitation day and see if someone takes it.

I left one out and some junk van some bumb took it.

see wat happens if not look call computer places maybe they might want it.

I had a load of old big monitors at work that we wanted rid of.  I used freecycle - offered them for free if someone came and took them away - they all went (along with keyboards, an old fax and a couple of printers).  It's a great way to get rid of stuff that you don't want that is still useable.  One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I signed up to my local freecycle group through the yahoo groups feature.
