Question:

How can I regulate the volume on my TV?

I have plain old cable service (I think it's digital?) and a cheap, but almost brand new TV, and not only are the commercials always 10 times louder than whatever show I'm watching, but the volume levels vary greatly from channel to channel.....it's really annoying. Is this a cable issue, or an issue with my TV? I've futzed around with the audio settings for both, but nothing helped. Is there any other way to fix it?

  1. This has nothing to do with your TV...it's an issue with your cable company.  The local inserts (commercials) are automatically broadcast and often not regulated as far as sound mixing, so they tend to be louder than the broadcast itself.
