Question:

How can I rehang the clothing rods in my closet?

Hi -- it's actually my boyfriend's closet, and I'd like to get it organized for him as a birthday gift. He has a medium-sized, "reach-in" style closet with sliding doors. There are two long clothing rods, but they hang too low. All of his shirts on the bottom rod drag on the ground, and the upper rod is too close to that bottom rod. Yet, there is plenty of unused space above the two rods. Would it be hard for me to raise both rods so we can end this cluttered look? Where do I start? As a side note, we are renters, so I think we'll be okay making some small modifications to the closet but not redoing the whole thing. Thanks for your help!

  1. How are they connected to the wall?

All you'd have to do is undo them, move them up to better heights and reconnect however they are connected now.

Hopefully, they are screwed in and not nailed.  If they are nailed in, you might want to leave the pieces on the wall in place and go to the home improvement store and get new ones to install the rods in.
