  1. type it up and turn it into palm cards.

practice it over and over so you look at it less.

then, summarise the speech, maybe by putting the beginning of the sentences in or key words only

practice it over and over again

then summarise it more if you can and just keep practicing it with just a few hints until you can remember the order and everything.

    good luck!

ps. i hope it makes sense but if not just say and i'll try and reword it.

  2. Memorize it...or get does little card notes and write what you cant remember there to help you be organzied and to help you do a speech.Memorize your speech and take does card notes to help you present it.Use only the main things where you get stuck.

  3. Bullet points......Write your speech completely, it will obviously be a story. You will phase the story according to events or points you want to make. Each event or point you want to make becomes a "Bullet Point" Write a Heading for each of the bullet points which will remind you of what you want to put accross. So for instance you want to tell everyone how much you enjoyed your time at the college, your bullet point would be........."A wonderful time here for the past 4 years" on which you can then elaborate. Good luck

  4. Write yourself out "cue cards" - short details of each paragraph that you can glance down at every now and then to remind you of what you are talking about.

  5. If you have an audio reconrding device, you should say your speech and record it in the way that you want to present it. Then, you just listen and listen and listen and listen and listen and listen...

You get the drift! Also the boring old practise in front of people and stuff also helps out a lot.

Hey dont worry about a speech with only 300 words.

I have to do a speech that has 2000 words in it.

    Its about 10 minutes.

So i hope that helps and good luck with the speech

    :D

  6. Practice, practice, practice!

Practice in a mirror and time your self.

If you can use cue cards, I would put the first words of each sentence down to get you in the swing of it and help if you lose your train of thought.

If you can use a full script, I recommend highlighting or bolding the words you want to emphasise and putting a symbol of some sort (a smiley is good) to remind you to breathe and look up in certain parts. This little trick really adds 'polish' to a speech.

Oh and don't ever, ever, ever start off with 'I'm going to give a speech about...' BORING! Just get on with it and make sure your opening line grabs interest - think 'action movie' opening.

    Best of luck!

  7.   If you're allowed to bring index cards, put a single word on each one that will remind you of the detail you'll be talking about at each step.  Don't try to memorize the speech verbatim; this will only make you nervous because you'll be concentrating on giving back words instead of ideas.  Know your information.  Decide what your specific supporting details are.  Memorize those instead of the actual speech. For example, let's say your speech is about why the driving age in New York City should be raised to 21.  Instead of memorizing an entire speech, list the details you'll be covering.  Maybe the list will be:  1) increase in accidents when driving age was lowered to 17, (2) the abundance of mass transportation, (3) recent abuse of driving privileges among teenagers.      THEN, just memorize the list of details and be so familiar with what you want to say to support those details that you can talk extemporaneously (off the top of your head) about each one.

This doesn't mean you don't write the speech out.  Write it out, but read it over so many times that you're very familiar with what you want to cover.  You WILL remember what you want to say.  Word for word memorization will only make you nervous in the end.    Best of luck!

  8. Just memorise it.

  9. Outline your speech on paper, then make note cards with important points based on your outline. Rehearse your speech in front of a mirror several times.

Get your family or friends together to practice your speech in front of an audience as well as to critique your presentation. Make any corrections and continue to rehearse with your note cards until you feel comfortable. Usually 3 or 4 times of rehearsal will work!

    Good Luck!
