How can I remove Yahoo Group "Recent Activity" status from appearing in the middle of my screen?

When I am in msn.com reading emails, I get this annoying yahoo bar that runs vertically in the middle of my sreen. It is ostensibly giving me Recent Yahoo Group Activity which I don't want, need, could care less about.

Also does Yahoo have any live/direct customer service bodies for the FREE non pay services or does one always have to go through this nonsense of having to ask fellow members how to solve problems like this?

  1. Sounds like you're getting the "full-featured" format of Group e-mails where you want the "traditional" format.  To change this, go to the Group's home page on the web.  Then click Edit Membership in the middle of the top line (just below the ad if there is one).  Then scroll down to Step 3 Message Preference.  Select Traditional.  Don't forget to click the Save Changes button (near the lower-right-hand corner) when you're done.

Most free Yahoo services have a Customer Care department that you can contact by filling out the appropriate form.  The form for Yahoo Groups Customer Care is at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/... .

  2. thats why Yahoo created Yahoo Answers, because they don't have customer service for non paying Yahoo group users. only people who get a phone number is those who have yahoo for teir ISP- any number you call, they'll direct you right back to the nonsense of fellow users, like me.

cant answer your other question, sorry sounds like you have a browser ad or yahoo tol bar thingy gone nuts
