I've read that Norton Security leaves traces of itself on your computer after being uninstalled, how can I remove these traces of it? My PS3 cannot get my IP address because of it.

  1. First install you'll need to install Norton again download Use Perfect Uninstaller if your willing to pay but if you want a free good one download and use Revo Uninstaller 1.71 this should work

  2. Go to the Norton site and search for "Norton_Removal_tool"

    Or

Norton has an uninstall program that you will search to find on line called "Symantec Removal Utility"

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsg...  (This may now be an outdated file)

    download this and run it.

Then do a search in 'all files and folders' - search for both Norton and then Symantec with the options "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checked. Delete all of those files found.

You should do this search and delete whenever you un-install any programs. It will remove lots and lots of leftover junk files and corrupted files taking up room on your hard drive. It will also give you a "clean install" when you reinstall or install an updated program. (Do this ESPECIALLY when updating to a NEW anti-virus programs and “Internet Security Suite” programs such as McAfee or Norton etc.)

    BEFORE INSTALLING your new anti-virus:

Download and install "Registry Mechanic" or ccleaner then do the updates prior to running it and removing anything for the first time. This will get rid of all your current Registry errors, prior to installing or reinstalling.

    ..

  3. Edit your registry "regedit".  Search and remove all Norton related files.

  4. Use c**p cleaner ( ccleaner ) for c**p.

  5. HAVE A LINK TO REMOVE TRACES OF NORTON.
