I bought a polo from American Eagle but my little brother spilled some food on it and now there's a bunch of small stains on it. Is there any home remedies or ways I could remove it?

  1. bleach

  2. oh, you can put some baking soda or cornstarch on the spots to absorb the oils and then use a good quality dish detergent like Dawn to wash it with, but you will never truly get the oily spot out.

Whatever you do, don't bleach it to get the stains out.  It doesn't work.

  3. dish soap!!!!

  4. use dish washing liquid because it will cut the grease. Put some on the stain and let sit for 30 min and then use tide with bleach on the hot cycle also put regular bleach in too. Should come out.

  5. When ducks get into oil slicks, don't they use dish liquid (dawn?) to clean them up?

Seems like if it works for ducks, it would work for your shirt, right?

  6. Put some chalk  over the oil spot, then treat the stain with a stain remover (I love Tide to go) and wash normally. The chalk absorbs the grease.

  7. Bleach does not remove oil stains, use dish soap.  Put some on the stain and then wash it.  If it does not come out soak it in a bucket of water and more dish soap and let it sit overnight.  Also don't let the soap dry otherwise it's hard to get out and looks like a stain.

  8. Dish soap for sure!!!

  9. My Husband works in the Oil Field business and believe me he gets dirty and nothing works better than Ultra Dawn!!!.

Work it in with a toothbrush then wash  as you normally would. GOOP hand cleaner will work if the stain hasn't been set in yet.

  10. Try using shampoo...i've tried it before and it works sometimes!
