Question:

How can I remove blood stain from couch?

A friend started her period and it got on my couch a few weeks ago. I since applied some of that tide stick stain remover but it didn't disappear so it's just sitting there on my otherwise spotless couch. Any tips? I haven't applied water to it for fear it would set in the stain and wish I had known what to do before it dried.

  1. ~~Hydrogen perxide will remove it. However be sure to test an inconspicuous spot on your couch first to be sure it's colorfast.. If o lightening occurs then apply it to the stain, let it bubble away and remove with cold water. You may need to do this a couple of times if it has really set in. Good luck!~~

  2. I'm assuming this is on a seat cushion.  If you can remove the cover from the cushion, do that.  Then you can carefully treat the stain.  I'd start by running some cool water through it.  Maybe add a little soap or oxy clean to loosen it.  I'd work on the back side.

If you not comfortable trying to clean it yourself and you can take the cover off the cushion, take it to a dry cleaner you trust.  Trust is important here. Ask if he/she can remove the stain.

Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

  3. My mother ALL these yrs have said COLD water will get blood out. I cant get it all out myself BUT she can. She also uses ERA its a stain fighter for coloreds or whites and you can use it on upholstery. Try taking the cover off the seat if there is one and that's where it is. If not use drops of ERA and cold water and scratch pad. NOT a scouring pad but like a nail brush and do this till it comes out. Good Luck

  4. lol at your friend.

Use some bleach/tide products, or be a vampyre and drink it all out.
