How can I remove glass from a window whithout breaking it?

I want to install an air conditioner and I want to take the glass out of a small window to put it there. How can I do this without breaking the glass?

strong suction cups.. they have a special tool that does this.. but usually you get a unit smaller than the measurements of the window with the glass when its open.. so that the the window can close and hold the air-conditioner in place.
