  1. Like terry2sm I am going to say WD40 allow it is soak into the rust.

    Promise you it works.

By the way it is for many other household uses too. I got biro ink on my mobile I used it for that and it came off easily to name just one.

  2. wd 40 and a hammer

  3. The top answer is the way to go. The easiest way at least.

  4. If the above answers do not work, you might have to try a blow torch and a mallet.  Taking it to your local bike shop for this sort of work will cost between £5 and £30, depending upon how stuck.

    Luck

  5. WD40, plus gentle heat (boiling water) and tap with block of wood and a hammer.

  6. Remove the front wheel and using a long punch, try knocking it out from below, you may also need to remove the brakes if they are calipers.

  7. Loosen stem bolt, but don't remove it if its just the wedge thats jammed.

Soak in WD40 from both ends, leave overnight.

Fit an old/strong front wheel and handlebars, hold the wheel between your knees and force the handlebars side to side. You could try applying heat to the fork steerer, but it will quickly spread to the stem, so in this case heat won't be your saviour.

Once the handlebars are moving, sideways, make a reference mark on the stem, and keep turning the bars, adding some upwards force. keep going for about 2 hours and you will get there!
