How can I remove pink from colored clothes?

The wash load contained dark colored clothing. A couple of polyester knit tops had thin white borders. Included among the clothes was a red blouse. It had previously been washed at least 6 to 8 times. I was dumb founded, and disheartened, when I realized what caused the "pink". One of the "pinked" tops had been worn only one time:(

  1. Rit® Color Remover (from the company that makes dye) removes most stains on whites that have been washed with colored items:

To prevent future bleeding, use Shout® Color Catcher™ sheets: http://www.shoutitout.com/preserve-color...

  2. I agree w/ first answerer. As long as you didn't put them in the dryer you have a good chance to lighten or remove the pink. I would use a stain remover directly on the transfered area. Spray it, scrub it, and let it sit.  Wash when you are ready.

I've been told that salt and/or vinegar in your wash water will set dark colors and prevent bleeding.

  3. You might try Oxywash or any product containing oxygen agents. If you didn't dry the tops in a dryer and set the color, you have a better shot at getting it out.

    Good Luck.
