  1. Another way to remove the chip safely (if you don't need it) is to just cut each lead near the body of the chip and then just touch your iron to the remaning leads one at a time and remove them that way.

  2. Oh boy, you badly damaged it. Get a hot air blower similar to this.

Just heat around the pins then pick it up with a tweezer.

If you don't have this tool, just use a normal soldering iron. Apply solder leads (flood it). At both sides of the chip. Heat the leads alternately at both sides until the chip moves. Just pick it up later.

  3. It's looks like you've damaged the board pretty good already. The easiest way to remove the IC's if you don't have a hot air bonder is to use a hot air gun. There nothing more than a hair dryer on steroids. You could try to flood the area with hot solder and just lift the IC, but, most of the IC's are "glued" down to the PC board when they are assembled before they go to the solder table. This glue holds the IC in place until it can be permanently soldered down to the PC board. A hot air gun will heat the solder as well as the small amount of glue under the chip, thus allowing you to life the IC with a pair of tweezers or small hemostats. Good luck with this.
