How can I rent a cottage on toronto island?

There are a number of privately owned homes on the eastern part of the islands, on "ward's island " Those buildings are leased frrom the city of Toronto, on 99 year leases, and as the leases expire, the city is tearing them down. They were originally summer cottages, but people do live there year round now.

So you  can't RENT  one, but there are a number of bed and breakfast operators there.

I thought it was all city park and you can only rent a slip for your boat over there
