  1. You need to have international driver license and renting motorbike is any problems, you just need to find out early at the AVIS, Hertz, Sixt....

  2. Renting a motorbike is not the best way to save money when you travel. Unless you specifically want to rent a motorbike I would recommend using a specially discounted rail ticket - either the Laenderticket or the Schoene-Wochenende-Ticket (Happy-Weekend-Ticket).

Another cheap alternative to get around is to use a ride-share service.

  3. No, you need an international driving licence (that is just a formal act but costs money) and a credit card. For companies renting vihicles charge a credit card.

  5. You have to have a valid drivers license usually a credit card as well.

I would get an international license so you have no problems getting a rental or if pulled over explaining what your ID is at a station!!

You would have to look into the region you are going to and find out what shops are there to rent from if any. Cities are better luck at renting them than a village.
