Okay, i was doing some computer cleaning, deleting junk files, uninstalling, etc... then when i restarted my computer, my operating system, windows xp media center, the whole interface was lost. in other words, i cant see my desktop start menu, everything was reseted as if it was in safe mode and the whole GUI, graphical user interface stopped working. SO i cant copy my files or other things that i want to save before i would install the whole operating system all over again. SO BASICALLY I THINK THAT THERE IS A REGISTRY ERROR OF SOME KIND AND I CANT CLICK, COPY, CUT, ERASE, OR ANYTHING, NOT EVEN START ETC. How can i repair the system, i already tried system restore but it gives me an error that it is corrupted. I think of either using recovey console in windows when ou boot it up, BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THAT!!! PLEASE HELP !!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. how many restore points did you try?

you might need to do an undelte from the over lay of the install

    data recovery option

if you backed up your registry you can just reload it

  2. Restart your computer in Safe Mode (Press/Hold F8 as soon as your computer powers on, it must be pressed BEFORE the windows loading screen shows up. Choose Safe Mode with Networking from the options that will show up)

If that works, you should be able to copy files to some safe place, another hard drive, or an external drive, and then you could reinstall windows.
