How can I repair a hydro-locked jetski without taking it in to get serviced?

If anyone can, can you tell me how to do it step by step. It's a Kawasaki STX-12F, 1200cc four cylinder engine. Thanks

  1. That is an expensive machine for a novice to learn how to become a mechanic.

    Not trying to be mean or anything, but if your first mechanical foray into it resulted in flooding the engine, you probably need to have a pro take over.

    The crankcase will also need to be drained/checked and an oil change done. The generator will also need to be checked for water as well.

    Bite the bullet and take it to the shop.


  2. Pull the spark plugs and turn and hit the starter.  The water will pump out. Hydro lock is when the cylinders are full of water and water will not compress.
