I have a lot of information on my credit report that is outdated and should not be on there, there are duplicate accounts, and my name and address are listed about twenty times and its all wrong! I know that I can dispute the information myself, but I just don't have the time or patience.

  1. You can dispute negative items yourself by ordering free copies of your credit reports and then sending dispute letters to each of the credit bureaus. However, if you are like most people and don't have the time to learn the applicable consumer credit laws or the time to experiment with the tactics for repairing your own credit, you can use one of the many legitimate credit repair organizations out there.

Lexington Law is the premier credit repair firm is the industry. They have been around for almost 20 years and have helped over 500,000 people repair their credit. If you are still shopping for a credit repair service, make sure you at least give them a call to discuss your options. The number on their site is 1-800-214-0922.

  2. FYI: Unfourtunatly thier is no easy fix it will prob take at least 2-3 to acheive positive results. You should  do your own  research on hiring the services of a credit repair company. be cautious and choose a reputable company. In my research law firms seem to acheive the best results because the credit bureus seem to take the dispute letter more seriously if they are coming from an attorney. also they seem to be the most reputable and legit becuase most lawyers would not put thier license and reputation on the line to make a quick buck. I would suggest looking into creditlawgroup.com they have an excellent better bussiness buruea record and charge reasonable rates to represent you.

  3. How To Repair Credit

    It takes time. Often, you'll

have to stay on top of it.

    Keep pushing until it's

    repaired.

    Remember, your credit

    rating determines if you'll

    get some jobs, loans, just

    about everything.

    It can be emotional, hard,

    but think of the results.

  4. If you don't have the time or patience to do it, nobody else will. There is not quick fix for this kind of problems. Sure there are agencies but generally you need to have a deep debt for them to help out and they aren't going to help because you don't have the time. Not trying to sound rude, just true.

  5. There should be a local Consumer Credit Counseling office in your area. Call them. They should be able to point you in the right direction. I used them a long time ago.

    Good luck!

  6. Before you waste money signing up with a credit repair company, read this:  http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/cred...

It is very easy to dispute inaccurate info on your credit file.  You don't need a special form or format.  You don't even need complete sentences to describe the reason you are disputing.  In fact, you'll get things resolved a lot faster if you DON'T use one of those ridiculous form letters so many "credit" sites offer.

Just say I dispute the following.  Then list the item and a brief description as to why you are disputing.

FYI, the addresses have absolutly nothing to do with your credit.  They are typically the result of credit applications.  If there addresses you never lived at, you can dispute them but they really make no difference.

It may appear you have duplicate accounts if the original creditor charged off the account and sold it to a collection agency.  Both should appear on your credit file.  The original creditor should reflect as charged off.
