Question:

How can I replace a lost Vietnam passport and green card?

Can someone tell me how to replace a lost Vietnam passport? Is there a site to order a replacement? Just out of curiousity, is it required to have a passport to come back to the US permanently if I was a former resident (not citizen) of the US? Also, if my mom lived in the US for two years, can she 'invite' me back without a passport or green card? Thanks for any answers!

  1. I would go to my local government and ask them the questions you are asking here.  If it was a Vietnamese Passport and not a US Passport you will have to see Vientamese Government not US to have it replaced.

    Cheers C

  2. r u from Vietnam ??????????

  3. you go to US embassy in VN to ask for help (if you are US citizen). If you lost your personal documentations, try to get police report. I know it is hard in VN. It is easy for you to apply for new one when you come back to US. Don't sweet, US and Vietnamese governments allow you to travel, they already have your file in their system.

    Good luck

  4. Hi there

You would have to contact the VN Consulate for a new passport, and you would have to contact the US INS for a new US green card.  You can't come back into the state until you have these issue resolve.

Also, without the passport, the airline would not allow you to go back as well.  Good Luck
