How can I replace the rubber grip on the "Smith & Wesson 586-8 air pistol" with a steel grip?

The left side of the grip comes off so you can load the co2 cartridge into the gun. However, it doesn't stay on tightly and it wobbles too much. Is there a steel grip that allows you to insert the co2 catridge from the bottom?

  1. I don't know of any replacement,but,

I can tell you how to fix the stock grip.

Using pliers, bend the spring steel clamps that hold the grip to the inserted CO2 cylinder slightly closer together. This will make it slightly harder to snap it into place, but it'll hold on a lot better. Then, to prevent wobble, put a couple drops of super glue where the steel spring clamp is attached to the grip, and snap it into place on the gun and streighten it quickly before the glue sets.

Now the grip should stay on well and not wobble around on you.

I've had to do this to a couple CO2 pistols myself. Hope this helps.
