How can I report a slumlord in AZ?

I stay in Phoenix and its pretty obvious that this landlord doing something shady. The grounds completely went to h**l. The pool is not maintatined. Cops are there every fricking day. Repairs are not getting done. The repair men look like complete trash. Im sick of it!!! The bad part is I cant break my lease and Im stuck for another 6 months. I want to bury this a*****e!!!! Who in the City would I contact to investigate. I know its privately owned. But they have to be registered.

  1. You can call the main number at city hall and get to the "blight" department.  They now have teeth to be able to make the landlord fix things.  My friend is working in Chandler to clean up the city right now.

    Landlords have to register their names at the Assessor's Office. If they don't they pay a big fine; so the city will be able to find him. /


  2. Simply call all the appropriate city/county offices and report violations.

    But be aware you should also be sending the landlord a steady stream of mature, thought-out complaint letters citing specific problems and how they violate the lease and/or local law. This creates a paper trail to be used against him later.
