How can I reset my paswrd?

Hey all, I forgot my user name log in password on my Laptop, is there any way I can reset it? Please help.Thanks

If you are lucky, the Administrator password was never set on the system.

Reboot the system, and when you see the logo for the motherboard or computer manufacturer, start tapping the F8 button on your keyboard.

Continue to tap it until you are presented with a list of options that start with Safe Mode.

Choose Safe Mode and when it boots to the Desktop, you will have an option to login with Administrator or Your user account.  Log in with the Administrator account.  Click Start, then Control Panel and go to the Users icon in the control panel.  Find your user name, click on it, and change the password in the options there.

If the Administrator account has a password on it, there are utilities on the net, but they require an advanced knowledge base, otherwise you can really s***w up the computer.

restart, constantly press f8, click same mode with networking, this will let u sign on as the computer admin with out a password,u can go to the user accounts after logging in as the administrator and change your password, since you and administrator, u dont need the old password.
