How can I restore my computer??

Question

I want to restore our computer and the restore disk dosen't work and my dad won't pay $20 to get a new disk so is there any other way to restore our computer?? I tryed to restore it back to the last checkpoint and that was only on april 30, 2008 which isn't that far back to make a difference. Is there a way I can make my own restore disk or something?? I have a Emachine with windows XP!!

restore to factory settings

start

computer

disk drive (d)

tools

PCRestore

go  to  system  restore  in  your  system  tools  and  try  that.....or  run  your  operating  disc  but  that  might  erase  all  your  data......
