How can I restore my computer to its original factory state when new?

I have a major pain of a virus on my computer. It doesn't allow me to use System Restore, or do anything for that matter. I can no longer access the internet or any of my desktop items. I've been trying to deal with this problem for so long now and am ready to just give up. The only thing I want to do is copy over several pictures and give the computer a brand new fresh start but even Backup doesn't even work for me... =( someone PLEASE HELP! Thanks

Find the xp or vista disk that came with your computer. (if your using xp, u will have a xp disk, vista, a vista disk) and follow the instructions to re-install xp/vista all over again.
