When i go to grocery shopping I keep the plastic bags instead of throwing them away. I use them for trash or other things. So i use them twice.

If you are in Australia, Sydney many shops (Woolworths) have bins where you can place your plastic bags to be recycled otherwise you can use them for bin liners (why buy them when they come with shopping), dog poo bags, taking lunch to where ever you are going.

Just remember that plastic lasts a long time so be creative and get the most out of it.

I use them as liners for my wastepaper baskets in the bathroom and in my bedroom.   Since I only live with my wife and we don't generate enough garbage every day, we also use them as garbage bags too...I throw one out every night.

In all my local grocery shops, they have huge boxes where you put plastic bags to be recycled. The grocery shops are really encouraging ppl to put them there are recycle them. I think it is because they are taxing them for every plastic bag that they use. i live in California, i dont know if it is being done in other states, but it should.

Erm... I sometimes glue them all together and make loads of layers and make a parachute/ or a kite. They fold really well too. :)

I use mine as liners in my small trash cans, for cat/dog poo cleanup, dispose of really nasty diapers.  Many stores like WalMart have a recycle bin at their entry doors.

If you're crafty, you can cut them into strips and crochet, knit or weave with them.

I came up with this idea the other day: a lot of cats like crinkly noises. If you sew, you can make a crinkle pad. Just sew a couple of pieces of fabric together with some batting and a plastic bag or two on the inside. I haven't tried it yet, but will be.
