My birdbath has algae and also slimy stuff stuck on the sides, I've used bleach and other things and it just comes right back. In between each fill up (every 3 days or so) I scrub it clean with a steel pad. It's always been this way, just wondering if there was something I could put in the water or just clean it with that will prevent this?

  1. hard to imagine bleach didn't help.

any way , takeway the UV light  ,it may allow your water to stay cleaner longer. blue dye.

algae requires the wavelength of light of the sun to grow.

block the wavelength , slow the growth.

  2. I have it too, gave up...it adds character!

  3. All I can say is change the water daily to everyother day, get any food or feathers out and treat with a birdbath cleaner.

You can check out this website I use it to order my products from, they have great stuff and tips.
