How can I rotate my video and change its sideways position to normal upright position?

I've made a mistake taking a video using my digi cam in a vertical position. I thought i could fix it right away if i put it in my computer just like what i do to my photos. Well, its my first time to take a video on a digi cam, it's my first time to try taking a video ever. The video is sideways and i dont know what to do to fix it. Please help me! Thank You!

  1. There are many ways to do that

    1)If you're using Windows XP, go to Start > Accessories > Entertainment > Windows Movie Maker. If you import the ASF, you should be able to rotate it.

    2)Also easily accomplished with vitualdub.

    File > Open video file (open your file)

    Video > Filters > Add > Rotate (rotate however youwant)

    File > Save As AVI

    3) Go to the web site

    Use the  program called SUPER to convert the file to uncompressed .AVI (very very little quality degradation), then used filters in VirtualDubMod to rotate the video, clip out the section that I want, resize (without stretching) the frame to 4:3, and finally recompress.


  2. Photographs can be rotated either while viewing them in the camera or while viewing them on the computer.

    Videos cannot be rotated.
