  1. I know you don't want me to say to train hard but that's honestly the only way to improve. Keep running no matter how crappy you feel. Get out and run everyday...even when you don't want to. The most important thing to keep in mind is to not stop moving. Even if you have to walk it's better then stopping. Slowly you will see that running will get easier and you will be able to run faster. Don't get discouraged. Don't give up. Also, make sure you eat good food (whole grains, fruits, vegetables) and drink plenty of water. The easiest and best way to train is to run hills...and lot's of them.

  2. If you are running without getting tired you aren't running fast enough, and your times will suffer. Increase your flexibility through proper stretching. Make sure you are practicing sport specific (sprinting is insignificant compared to long distance pacing).  Eat right and make sure you are getting enough carbs to maintain high energy levels, enough fat to fuel your body correctly and enough protein to build new muscle. Once you're old enough you can take steroids, they will also increase your performance.

  3. The main way to run the 2 1/2 mile faster is to pratice running further than that. When you train to run a distance you always train to run past that distance. You increase your stamina and you also condition your body for the further run. You can start by running a short distance then every day you run you need to increase that distance ( it doesn't have to be by much just enough to give you a work out and not too much too kill you.) When doing these runs run at your slow pace. ((When I am training I run slower than when I am running in an event. But the training to run further than the event is what keeps you conditioned. It also has to deal with the adrinaline that you get when running in an event.))

You should also set a work out schedule with a day of rest in between every couple of runs.

  4. You cant get faster at running if you take it easy. If that was the case, everybody in the world would know how to run fast. It all comes down to hard work, determination and desire to want to get better. You need to push yourself no matter what. When you feel tired, dont stop. Just slow down and take small, efficient steps. Run longer distances and your body will get used to it. In order to be successful in running, you have to be mentally tough in order to keep going on.
