Question:

How can I run more comfortably on the treadmill?

I've been walking/jogging (between 4-5 mph) on the treadmill everyday for the past month and a half, and have lost a bit of weight and have been able to push myself harder each time. The past few times, I have started feeling like I have to, ahem, make bowel movements, at around 15 minutes into it. Then, I jump off and I'm not able to take care of the problem, if you know what I mean. It passes after a minute and I jump back on with no problems.

I would not stop running if it were not so uncomfortable.

I have been eating mostly whole wheats for breakfast, am usually too busy for lunch, and then sometimes I have soup or a veggie burger for dinner. I usually drink mint tea about an hour before a workout. I stretch thoroughly before and after.

  2. Study your wheat and fiber. it is good for you but it will bind also if you don't drink enough water. You truly need the fiber but lots of water to.

If your intent on losing weight and feeling better your doing some of the right things. but don't skip lunch.

When you eat about a half cup of fiber cereal and half cup of skim milk for breakfast and a big glass of water you will get your metabolism going. Don't let 4 hours pass with out re- fueling a bit to keep your furnace going. Always snack with a small carb and a small protein. When you try and skip meals and diet, your body will go on a starvation shut down mode and conserve, and you wont burn the fats. Eat six times a day, to keep your furnace burning. You can eat small healthy snacks to total no more then your planned calories for your weight loss program. Keep up the exercises and if you drink the amount of water your suppose to... You problems will go away.

One thought.... there is nothing wrong with stopping in the middle of your run to stretch your body and then continue your run.

You will have less injuries this way.
